Mind, I'm aware that this may well be biographical - and if so, sympathies.
Full marks the frighteningly effective way you toy with the readers emotions, or rather, make the readers feel what you want them to feel.

While this is clearly photo referenced, you know how to simplify and enhance.
This is a classy and classic bit of draughtmanship and I would scout you if you had two more pieces up. Partly because that is the requirement, but mostly because I'd like to see some more of your stuff.
